Summit360 Solutions · Full-time · Remote (Philippines)
Overview:
Summit360 Solutions is looking for an experienced CAD Designer with an HVAC background to join our growing team of Pathfinders, AI-certified Filipino professionals supporting US businesses. In this role, you will produce precise 2D drawings and 3D models in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for HVAC systems and equipment. Your work will cover ductwork layouts, sheet metal fabrication drawings, and equipment models, and it goes straight to the shop floor and job site. You will work closely with our client's engineering, fabrication, and project teams. If you understand how HVAC systems are built and installed, and you take pride in clean, accurate, buildable drawings, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Prepare 2D HVAC drawings in AutoCAD, including duct and piping layouts, mechanical room plans, sections, details, and as-built drawings.
Create shop and fabrication drawings for ductwork, fittings, plenums, and supports that follow SMACNA standards and client specifications.
Build parametric 3D models in Autodesk Inventor for HVAC equipment and components, such as air handling units, enclosures, curbs, and sheet metal assemblies.
Generate flat patterns, cut lists, and fabrication-ready drawings from 3D sheet metal models, with accurate bend allowances and gauges.
Produce complete drawing packages with dimensions, tolerances, annotations, title blocks, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Convert engineer markups, field sketches, PDFs, and legacy drawings into clean, editable CAD files.
Coordinate HVAC layouts with architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings to identify clashes and clearance issues early.
Revise drawings and models based on engineering feedback, submittal comments, and field changes while keeping revision history accurate.
Check your own work for dimensional accuracy, fit, and consistency between models and drawings before submission.
Maintain organized files, naming conventions, block libraries, and version control across projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
At least 3 years of CAD drafting and design experience, with at least 2 years in the HVAC or mechanical building services industry.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting, including HVAC layouts and shop drawings.
Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor, especially sheet metal design, assemblies, flat patterns, and drawing generation.
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices, including ductwork sizing basics and equipment connections.
Familiarity with SMACNA standards and sheet metal fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals.
High attention to detail and the ability to produce error-free drawings with minimal rework.
Clear written and spoken English for working with US-based teams.
A portfolio or work samples showing both 2D HVAC drawings and 3D Inventor models (required with application).
Reliable high-speed internet and a computer capable of running Inventor smoothly, with a dedicated GPU preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or Autodesk Vault is a plus.
Familiarity with US drafting conventions and imperial units is a plus.
